I mentioned in my previous post that this little dumpling had certain things already figured out. She has her mind made up about things - important things. Things like FASHION.

On this lovely morning, as on most lovely mornings, according to her momma, getting dressed was largely decided by Little Miss. This particular day, Mom decided that a pair of brown shoes would be darling with her outfit - and they would have been. However, Little Miss did not agree so much. She insisted, and I mean insisted, on the pair of turquoise shoes.
When she put them on, her mother and I looked at each other. She actually looked very well put together! I said "Actually, that looks really good! 'What Not to Wear' must have taught her something - she has the pop of color going on!"
Suri Cruise who???

So, we hopped in the car and sped off to meet Emilee for a day of fun, and a bunch of firsts for me.
I think that is part of the reason this trip was memorable for me, because Caroline introduced me to things I had never seen or done before, and I have been to Salt Lake several times.

We ate at the Lion House (an absolutely MUST for me no matter how many times I go to Salt Lake) and then we walked around Temple Square, not necessarily my first time, but it was the first time I got this close to the door of the Temple. We were on a photography mission.
Mission: photograph the door knobs of the Salt Lake City Temple.
(more on that later)

We walked around and snapped away. The weather was gorgeous! Perfect in the sunlight, but get under a tree and you need a sweater.

It was about this time that the littlest Booth became even more particular. Very, very particular.
I think it had something to do with it being after lunch time and way past her nap time.

We were contently photographing her here and then Aunt Emilee took one step closer than she preferred.....

Enter the melt down.

She was beside herself! Clearly. But soon, Aunt Emilee coaxed her into taking her shoes off and running on the cool, soft grass and that did the trick!

See! Happy as a lark!
I think, at this point, someone mentioned they had a craving for something sweet like ice cream (could have been me. I do not remember). It was mentioned in passing, not necessarily as something set in stone. However, the littlest Booth, seemed to grab ahold of it - and not let it go. Memory of an elephant, I tell you.
We decided to hop back in the car when Caroline suggested she take me to the Salt Lake City cemetery, which I really enjoyed. Many recognizable names such as Romney, Snow, Benson, Hinckley. Yes, I was just feet away from Gordon B. Hinckley's grave and it was really, really neat. The cemetery is at the foot of the mountain so the vista was incredible! Why didn't I get a photo of that??? It was amazing! We probably spent a good hour there...
Once again, baby Booth safely strapped to her car seat said "eye fweem" (ice cream) at least 8 times while we scaled up and down the narrow cemetery roads.

Next, Caroline brought me here. It was the neatest place!

In a sense it reminded me of the secret garden, but already beautiful and totally accessible.

Behind the wall was this beautiful park....

...and this old, historic meetinghouse. I thought it was the neatest thing that people actually meet for church on Sunday's here. Where I live, the meetinghouses aren't quite as beautiful, or historic, with a park and a creek and scenery to die for.
At this point, the littlest Booth reminded us that someone had mentioned, in passing, again that "eye fweem" was on the agenda.
Her mother said for about the fifteenth time "I know Honey! You've been such a good girl, we'll get ice cream in just a few minutes!"

Ok. This tree, mesmerized me! I cannot explain it, but I took about 1,300 photos of it. It was incredible! Call me nuts, it's fine. But I was enamored with it. The bark was beautiful too...
While I snapped away another 2,700 photos of the bark on this one tree...
"eye fweem? Eye fweem. Eye fweem..."

More of the Historic Garden Park Ward....
I think we were in the car and Carline says, "Oh!! There is one more place I wanted to show you..."
I, as politely as possible, said "It's not that I don't want to see it, but we've been telling Lainey for hours that we'd get ice cream, so...."
"You're right!! Oh, Lainey!!"
So, off we went to Maggie Moo's. Lainey ate an entire chocolate ice cream cone by herself!
She napped on the way home.
Then it was time for a slumber party!!

Kris came over, and brought delicious chili. I made corn bread cake...

And we ate caramel apples, and candy corn and watch a scary movie!
So fun!!
More to come..stay tuned...

Beautiful pictures, Tiffany. My parents wedding picture is in front of those doors and I love that picture of them, so of course, your photo brings back my memories, not that I was there or anything ;), but still. I love walking around Temple Square in Salt Lake, such a beautiful area. Hopefully I can go again someday soon.
Tiff - the Garden Park ward was my Grandma and Grandpa's ward in SLC and where my mom grew up! Russell M. Nelson was her Bishop there!! I'm so glad you took the pics - I hadn't seen it since it had been renovated. I attended there as a young girl when we were on vacation in SLC. My mom and dad's wedding reception was in that beautiful garden! A lot of history there for our family - so glad you got to see it!
Gorgeous pics! Thanks for sharing. We were in SLC last week and I didn't have time to take many photos. We miss the seasons there and hope to be back for good soon. Henderson, NV
